Privacy notice

StoryWell Books operates Chromalie. This notice explains the information used by the studio and the choices available to you. Our privacy contact is sales@storywell.in.

Colouring stays in your browser

Chromalie’s application code does not upload your paint layers, custom palette or editable project files to StoryWell Books. There is no visitor account, public gallery, messaging feature or contact form. When you share a page, it goes from your device to the app you choose; it does not pass through StoryWell Books.

When device saving is enabled, the browser stores your coloured paint layers, page identifiers, saved thumbnails and save times. Your custom palette also saves locally. The browser keeps these until you clear them or it removes site data. See storage settings to switch off new saves or clear saved artwork and palettes.

A setting remembers your choice about device saving. Another setting remembers whether you have dismissed the storage notice. These settings are kept on your browser so that your choices can be respected. Undo history and temporary drawing information are held during a session.

PNG downloads and editable project files are created on your device. Opening an editable project reads that file in your browser; the application does not send it to a server.

Hosting information

A host must receive requests to deliver the site. Hosting providers may process technical request information, including an IP address, browser information, requested files and request times, for delivery, reliability and security.

On GitHub Pages addresses, GitHub logs and stores visitors’ IP addresses for security, including for visitors who are not signed in. See GitHub’s privacy statement. The previous chatgpt.site version is hosted through OpenAI’s Sites service; see OpenAI’s privacy policy for that provider’s practices.

Provider retention and processing arrangements apply to this technical information. We do not promise that all hosting or support data is stored in India. This studio has no advertising scripts and no analytics beyond the anonymous counts described below.

Anonymous counts

To know whether Chromalie is used, the site adds one to a daily tally when the site is opened, when a page is opened (recorded by collection, such as Owls), and when a page is downloaded, printed or shared, the journal is opened or saved as a PDF, or Chromalie is installed. Each tally is a date, the kind of event and, where there is one, the collection. Nothing else is sent: no cookie, no identifier, no page title, no picture and nothing you type. The tallies are stored with Supabase, in its Mumbai region, and StoryWell Books can read only the totals for each day.

Supabase, like any service that receives a request, sees the request’s IP address and browser information when a tally is sent, and keeps them in its own short-lived request logs under its privacy policy. They are not stored with the tally. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, Chromalie sends no tallies at all.

If you contact us

If you email StoryWell Books, we receive your email address, the contents of your message and anything you attach. We use this information to respond to your request, investigate a reported problem or rights claim, and meet applicable legal obligations. Our email service provider processes the correspondence needed to deliver and store it.

We keep correspondence while handling a request and for any follow-up, dispute or legal obligation that requires it. We review whether it remains necessary. Please avoid sending information that is unrelated to your request.

Young people

The studio does not ask for a date of birth, identity documents or a child’s contact information. It has no public chat or profile feature. Parents or guardians should handle support requests for young children and avoid including identifying information about them.

Your choices and rights

You can switch off new device saves, clear saved work, and download copies using the studio controls. Clearing browser site data is another way to remove local records. StoryWell Books cannot remotely clear your browser’s saved drawings.

Depending on the laws that apply, you may have rights to access, correct or erase personal information held about you; restrict or object to its use; withdraw consent where use relies on consent; and complain to the relevant authority. Send requests about information held by StoryWell Books to sales@storywell.in. Requests concerning a provider’s own records should be sent to that provider.

We will assess requests and respond within the period required by applicable law. We may need proportionate information to verify a request. These choices do not remove records we must lawfully retain.

Changes

We will update this notice if the studio’s data practices change and date the revised notice here. A new account, cloud-save, further analytics or public-sharing feature would require a fresh review before introduction.
